Tasked with rebranding a local company, Cleveland Cyclewerks was chosen for its unique qualities as both a manufacturer and a retailer. The challenge was to separate the identity of a unique company from a saturated market. With wings or shields playing major roles on the marks of it's competitors, Cleveland Cyclewerks needed a mark that evokes strength as much as its claim on being Cleveland born. Thus, the large statues towering over both ends of the Carnegie Ave. bridge became the focal point.
Representing the Greek god Hermes, the god of travel and speed, these historic statues have carried passengers across the bridge below since the 1920's. What better representation is there for a company built on speed and machines that traverse the open road?
Beyond the logo itself, this Cleveland Cyclewerks brand draws from industrial heritage of Cleveland's past. With a blend of blue collar americana, and modern industry, this brand package helps define the Cleveland Cyclewerks image.
